New Apollo Panoramas Signed by Moonwalkers
Moonpans.com the specialists in assembling seamless panoramas from the Apollo Moon Missions have teamed up with some of the men who took the photos, to produce a new series of Moonwalker Signed Prints.
(PRWEB) May 7, 2004 -- "These prints are unique!" Says Mike Constantine of Moonpans.com. "The unsigned prints are very special in themselves, but the signed ones are an absolute gem to anyone interested in Space memorabilia"
For years, collectors have only been able to obtain 8x10 NASA prints or the larger 16x20 prints for their Moonwalker autographs.
"I have a large collection of signed 8x10 photos myself, and while I am very fond of them, they dont quite measure up to a 40 inch signed panorama! An 8x10 doesn't reveal the true beauty of the lunar scenery that greeted the Astronauts, whereas a panorama gives you a Moonwalkers eye view!"
Each panorama is made up from about 20 individual shots that the astronauts took in a full 360 degree circle. And it wasn't until digital technology came along that these shots could be assembled into high quality seamless panoramic prints.
"I was amazed to discover that the Apollo panoramas had never been assembled before in high resolution, so I was very honored to be the first to do so! I think the results are spectacular"
"The Moonwalkers themselves agree, each one has been very impressed with the images and I'm very grateful to have them on board"
To date moonpans.com panoramas are available signed by the Apollo 14 Lunar Module Pilot, Edgar Mitchell and by the Apollo 16 Lunar Module Pilot Charlie Duke. With Apollo 15 Commander Dave Scott available soon!
"Within a few months we should have signed panoramas available from each of the six lunar landing missions. And that will be something very special indeed!"
