The FAME Church of Pine Hills and The O.P.E.N. Center invites Orlando and the entire Central Florida community to a feature presentation on What You Need to Know, But Dont Know About the Spread of HIV." The keynote speaker is J.L. King, author of On the Down Low", recently featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show. The presentation and book signing will be held at the Callahan Neighborhood Center, which is located at 101 North Parramore Avenue in Orlando, FL on Saturday, May 22, 2004 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
With the rise of the spread of HIV among African American women, The FAME Church has decided to take a stand and assist in the education of our community about the spread of HIV. Our African American women are being infected with HIV by men who live on the down low and it is about time someone raises awareness to this issue that is increasingly devastating our African American communities," says Reverend David L. Ferguson, Pastor of the First AME Church of Pine Hills.
