Connect802 Moves To Patent Wi-Fi Network Design Method; System Predicts Installation Requirements In a Majority of U.S. Commercial Buildings
While performing wireless site surveys, Connect802 engineers discovered unexpected correlations between construction statistics and design requirements. These discoveries form the basis of a patent pending method that makes it dramatically easier to implement Wi-Fi wireless networks.
SAN RAMON, Calif.(PRWEB) May 7, 2004 Connect802 announced today that they have filed a provisional patent application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office covering a new proprietary method for wireless network design. This patent pending system is now available in the companys Connect EZ Solution Suites, which are integrated equipment and service packages for Wi-Fi wireless network deployment.
The new method allows customers seeking to install secure Wi-Fi wireless business networks to avoid some key problems that revolve around the difficulty of obtaining accurate and timely price quotations. An on-site survey is traditionally performed to determine equipment requirements and installation locations. Customers absorb the cost and inconvenience of this time-consuming activity. Even with the use of sophisticated computer modeling tools it has been impossible to immediately respond to customer inquiries since an RF engineer is still required to perform the computer modeling and create a design. The new patent pending design system discovered by Connect802 avoids these problems through the combination of statistical evaluation of building design and computer simulation and modeling.
Weve been able to predict the installation requirements for roughly 85% of all commercial buildings in the United States based on a set of easily identifiable construction characteristics and the size of the space," explained Joe Bardwell, Chief Scientist and President of Connect802 Corporation.
The Connect802 predictive design method has been received enthusiastically. Demand for business-class Wi-Fi is growing in the marketplace today," said Kevin Donnelly, President of Speed Wire Inc., a nationwide network installation and telecommunications service company. Donnelly went on to explain, The Connect802 methodology gives my sales team the ability to quickly provide accurate price quotations for our customers, without having to do a site survey, and thats attractive to both the sales people, and to the customers."
Connect802 is developing two separate patent applications to cover the newly patent pending system and will announce more details after the filing of these separate patent applications expected at the end of May, 2004.
