Central Florida Internet Broadcaster Wins International Broadcast Award

(Melbourne, FL) - Praise On Fire Radio, an Internet Radio Broadcast based in Melbourne, Florida, has just been voted the 2004 Live365.com Broadcast Award for Best Christian station . One of five nominees, the broadcast won in the category "Best Christian Station"with listenership under 10K.

The awards, nicknamed a "Mikey", were voted on by fellow Live365 network broadcasters and subscription listeners. "We are so honored by this recognition from our peers in theLive365 Community," said Jacquie Hopper, President of Freedom Wing Ministries, sponsoring organization for Praise On Fire Radio, upon hearing the news. "This shows the power and reach of the Internet -- that a small ministry in the far Southeastern part of the U.S. can be nominated for and receive an award out of thousands of broadcasters from all over the world."

The playlist includes music of the type made popular by the successful recording companies Hosanna Integrity and The Vineyard. "Our goal," said Mrs. Hopper, "is to play the music folks will find in their contemporary church services, so that through the week, they can enjoy the same inspiration which they receive on Sundays." The music is interspersed with dramatized scripture readings and devotions and is enjoyed by many listeners who play it quietly in the background at their computer stations at work.

Along with awards for Best Station in genres ranging from Christian to Blues to International to Pop, Live365 also recognized broadcasters in areas such as "Website Design", "New Stations" (stations operating for six months or less), and "Broadcaster of the Year". Awards were presented at their first ever Broadcaster's Convention just held in San Francisco, CA.
