(PRWEB) May 8, 2004 --The Executive Summary stated that the general public in Egypt is very passionate about football and spontaneously show their joy at the prospect of hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
It is largely for this reason - added to the wealth of history, culture and tourism in the country and the strong backing given by the Government to the bid - that the Inspection Group believes there is potential for an excellent World Cup to be staged in Egypt.
However, Egyptian fans believe that the FIFA inspectors' report on Egypt's suitability to host the 2010 World Cup finals is rather inaccurate. The report ignored the fact that Egypt is the only African country that has two communication satellites. This fact alone should have boosted Egypts telecommunications evaluation.
The report did not reflect the various transportation facilities available in Egypt, mentioning that Egypt has plans to build an underground train service. The capital, Cairo, already has an underground metro system which was inaugurated in 1987.
The report also stated that the country lacked stadiums suitable for an event of such magnitude, ignoring the fact that Egypt hosted a very successful FIFA U-17 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, to be the only African nation organizing an event of such magnitude, in Cairo, Ismailya, Alexandria and Port Saïd stadiums.
