Napa Valley Composer Releases Second CD
Louise P. Canepa releases second cd, "Napa Valley Moonlight Serenade"
(PRWEB) May 8, 2004 --Napa Valley composer Louise P. Canepa has just released her second CD, Napa Valley Moonlight Serenade".
Like her earlier Napa Valley Serenity" CD, this series of 15 works give sound to the rural landscape Canepa now calls home.
The evocative compositions, recorded in St. Petersburg, Russia by the St. Petersburg Chamber Orchestra and the Rimsky-Korsakov String Quartet reveal Canepas ability to transform the tranquil country splendor of Napa Valley, one of the countrys finest wine-producing regions, into melodies that linger long after the music has played.
In one track, At Dusk" she interprets through music the light cascading against the hillsides shortly after sunset. The melody, in a minor key, produces a haunting, lilting theme.
The CD weaves Canepas range of musical talents together with the addition of Mutters Garten" (Mothers Garden) written in German and sung by Russian Soprano Victoria Evtodieva. Other songs are also featured.
Canepa, a resident of Napa Valley since the 1980s, has been composing music since the mid 1970s. Her work included songs in English, German, French and Italian which is the language of her opera, Sicilians of Monterey" performed on stages across the Bay Area, including the First United Methodist Church as a benefit for the Napa Valley Opera House, Monterey Conference Center, and the Italian American Heritage Foundation of San Jose.
Currently refining Over The Bridge" a musical comedy that brings to light San Francisco of the 1980s, Canepa has received awards from the symphonic division of the National League of American Pen Women (string composition Lontono"), and has enjoyed success in other musical arenas, including the creation of the song Old Monterey", a piece that reveals what she remembers best about the Monterey Peninsula of her childhood.
This CD is available in select shops in the Napa Valley and can also be purchased from www.cdbaby.com. For more information, call Canepa at 707-944-9115 or email LCanepa@aol.com.
