A Unique Backcountry Stay in Adirondack Yurt

Hike in 2/3 mile along cascading waterfalls to a unique backcountry yurt. Step out your yurt door to miles and miles of state marked trails for hiking, biking, fishing, skiing, snowshoeing and more... In the beautiful Vanderwhacker wilderness of the Adirondacks

(PRWEB) May 8, 2004 --Stay in a yurt at Falls Brook in the Adirondacks.

Hike in 2/3 mile along cascading waterfalls from the Stony Pond Trailhead, Minerva, NY, over foot bridges and arrive at your own private yurt. Yurt, whats a yurt? Far different from a cabin, a yurt is a large, circular, insulated abode with a large sky light to the stars. Falls Brook Yurts are 20 in diameter and accommodate up to 8 guests.

The location in this region is definitely pristine and gets you there without too much hiking. Both beginner and seasoned backpackers come to Falls Brook to enjoy exactly what they came for, a great outdoor experience with ease. Time in the outdoors is enjoyed without hauling gear, sleeping on the ground, dealing with the elements and wondering if the trails will be crowded. Falls Brook Yurts are located in a less traveled area of the Adirondacks and offers many natural wonders such as waterfalls, caves, secluded ponds and varied forests just a step outside your yurt. These year round abodes offer propane heating, lighting and cooking with a fully stocked kitchen, mattress beds/bunks and futon seating along with a topographic map for your use.

It does not get any easier for guests to getaway in the backcountry. Guests need only hike in food, clothing and a sleeping bag. There is pure warmth and comfort in each Adirondack decorated yurt for a great way to getaway in the Adirondacks. Day hikes start from the door of your private yurt on marked trails or an easy bushwhack up Green Mountain for great views of the surrounding Adirondack Mountains. For the adventuresome, go whitewater rafting, canoeing and kayaking close by or visit the local Minerva Recreation area for a swim in a pristine, Minerva Lake (one of few non-motorized lakes in the Adirondacks) with a sandy beach and snack bar.

Go into the quaint town of Olmstedville for local cuisine including a gourmet restaurant, the Owl at Twilight and the Oville Diner. Most guests prefer to stay at Falls Brook as long as they can, dining in their yurt that seats a party of 8 comfortably. From each bunk/bed in the yurt, guests can enjoy a view of the stars through the skylight and hear the sound of Falls Brook flowing by. As the brook rushes by and you relax on comfortable camp chairs and futon, youll forget about the busy city or town you are come from, and find the comfort of Falls Brook really takes you away with ease.

You are now in the backcountry and its a place youll want to return to again and again.
