OUTMUSIC Hot and Sweet includes songs by 2003 OUTMUSIC Award (OMA) winners Allison Tartalia, Justin Tranter, Tarey Wolf, and Yolanda -- as well as tunes by British rock legend Tom Robinson and womens music pioneer Alix Dobkin. Music journalist / activist Larry Flick writes in his liner notes: This compilation is a tribute to the tireless work of those who comprise OUTMUSIC. It gives us music that speaks to and for us... not all in one song, but in a variety of tunes that come together as a vibrant tapestry of colors... colors that stand tall individually and mighty as a collection."
The artists of OUTMUSIC Hot & Sweet hail from the US, Canada, England, and Ireland and include seasoned veterans as well as dynamic debut artists performing in a wide range of musical genres including pop, rock, hip hop, folk, jazz and cabaret.
Guest curator Mitch Gallob selected the CD artists based on the recommendations of stellar panel of LGBT radio DJs who reviewed scores of submissions from OUTMUSICs more than 200 members.
A NYC release party is scheduled for Sunday May 9th at 7:30 PM at the Sidewalk Café (94 Ave. A) hosted by Justin Tranter's Flaming Sundays" and will feature performances by many of the artists featured on OUTMUSIC Hot & Sweet. CDs are on sale at www.cdbaby.com/outmusiccomp.
