Book Festival Receives PRs Image Awards
The Festival earned Image and Judges' Awards for 2003 media relations campaign
JACKSONVILLE, FL (PRWEB) May 10, 2004 -― The Amelia Book Island Festival received two awards Saturday night for its successful 2003 media relations campaign. The Festival earned the Image Award and Judges Award from the Jacksonville chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association. Top scoring entries in each category receive an Image Award and entries demonstrating maximum results while using a minimum budget receive a Judges Award.
Jason Mudd received the awards on behalf of the Amelia Book Island Festival and his public relations firm, Jason Mudd & Associates Public Relations and Marketing. This is the second time FPRA has recognized Mudd for his accomplishments in media relations. He won the same awards in 2002.

The successful results of the Festivals media relations campaign, which received the top score in its category, included the increase of 2003 ticket sales by 73 percent from 2002, the increase of 2003 bed night stays by 57 percent from 2002 and negotiating donations of $17,000 in advertising. The Miami Herald, The Dallas Morning News, The Florida Times-Union, Jacksonville Business Journal, booktv.org, The Charlotte Observer, Southern Scribe, Bradenton Herald, American Profile and other publications all covered the Festival.
The Amelia Book Island Festival, scheduled to take place Sept. 30 to Oct. 3, is dedicated to literacy, love of the written word and the community of writers and readers.
