It's MOSH-SEE TV!

Just this month they won a national Aegis Award for their show, interviewed legends in the music business, and completed a pilot for a national television network. It would be an achievement for any cast and crew, but the Swept Away Gang is a volunteer army of 13 to 18 year olds from all over Florida.

(PRWEB) May 9, 2004 --The most important thing is just to get the information right, Michelle Nash explains in the just finished pilot. Its by far the hardest part of the interview."

Michelle would know because in the past 4 seasons of Swept Away TV, the kids have interviewed more than 300 musical artists. Amanda and Jaime interviewed Michelle Branch before her first album, 2001s The Spirit Room came out. Zach got a tour of the Jeep World Tour from Maroon 5 the week their album Songs about Jane was released. Nicole talked to platinum artists Hoobastank and was lucky enough to listen to an acoustic version of The Reason before their album climbed up the Billboard charts this Spring.

Swept Away TV is a 30 minute inside look at a teenagers world. Every aspect of the show from the writing to the filming is done by the teenage cast and crew. The teens come from 17 different schools, in 8 counties in Florida. They direct their own cast and edit each episode using Final Cut Pro 4, the same program that is used to edit major network programs. Even the recruitment of new cast and crew members is handled by the kids themselves.

In 2002 the teenagers added another aspect to their program. They planned high school press conferences with famous musical artists so that Florida teens had a chance to interview the artists for their school newspapers and video programs. Something Corporate, Sum41, Thrice, Andrew WK, Hoobastank, The Starting Line, Alkaline Trio and the band Yellowcard have all participated in the press conferences. The press conferences gave the artists exposure they couldnt pay for and the teens a chance to do real life interviews.

The 4 co-hosts and director Jeff Hendler all plan careers in the music or television industry and see their experiences here as a foot in the door" for future endeavors. For now though they are having the time of their lives and are hoping to bring their teenage adventures to a national audience before long!
