Much like the upcoming movie TROY, the novel, Perpetua, offers a true story of passion, love and death, set in the days of the Roman Empire.
This spring Relevant Books made a timely move into uncharted territory with the release of its first fiction novel, Perpetua: A Bride, A Martyr, A Passion (March 2004). Perpetua is an historical novel based on the real life and death of a young Roman noblewoman. Perpetua was martyred in the amphitheater of Carthage in 203 AD, but kept a diary of her arrest and time in prison.
(PRWEB) May 10, 2004 -- With martyrdom at the forefront of the fiction publishing industry, from the Columbine tragedy to Islamic suicide bombers, telling the story of Perpetua now seemed like perfect timing. When I read the manuscript for Perpetua, I knew we had to publish it," said Cara Davis, Editorial Director of Relevant Media Group. RELEVANT is all about igniting a fire in this generation, to arouse a passion for God. Perpetua's story does just that. At a time when terrorism and uncertainty plague our generation, Perpetua's story reminds us that loyalty to the Gospel at all costs is a price we all will have to pay one way or the other."
Perpetua is available in mainstream and Christian bookstores nationwide. For additional information or to schedule an interview with Amy Rachel Peterson, contact Summer Scott at summer@relevantmediagroup.com or by phone at 407.333.7152.
