New Website Seeks to Make Finding Retirement Communities Easier on the Web.

Finding active adult, 55+ communities on the Internet just got easier and lots more fun with the launching of www.agequalified.com.

(PRWEB) May 9, 2004 --Agequalified.com is a newly created Internet directory that lists active adult communities across the US. Sparked by a need for an easy to use directory that covers only active adult communities, real estate consultant Jackie Harsha wanted to create a web-based directory for people over 55 to help them easily find communities in states and places where they might want to retire. Knowing how hard looking for a different home is, even in their home cities and states, she put together a web site that starts to simplify the process, especially for people who want to migrate from one state to another.

Her requirements were simple in concept but more difficult in execution. "First, the web site had to be easy to navigate," she emphasized. "Too many of these directories use small print which is hard to read, do not present the information in a logical sequence, or have slick images that create a question in some people's minds about how comfortable they would feel in an age qualified community." Wanting to avoid these pitfalls required organizing the site efficiently, by state, and by place.

The artwork in www.agequalified.com communicates just how much fun these communities can be for their residents. The pictures highlight typical activities, indoors and out. Baby boomers, especially, do not see themselves as old, and do not want to lose their sense of youth.

Besides portraying a youthful sense of retirement, www.agequalified.com provides information about the places in which the active adult communities are located. Builders and developers study a location hard before committing financial resources to it. Why shouldn't home buyers? Harsha, who contributes the marketing part of the due diligence package for developers, believed basic information about places like demographics, weather, and housing values was important before 55+ households start the time-consuming search for homes and communities. "Spending your vacation looking for homes in places that ultimately may not suit you is a disappointing process. Hopefully, this website eliminates some of the hassle associated with discovering your best place to retire. If it does, then we have done something good." Time will tell.
