Light The Fire Within Announces the Release of Generation to Generation

A wealth of life experience is ready to be passed from one generation to the next, but all too often we fail to mine this treasure before it is lost forever. Generation to Generation contains nearly 100 color pages on which to record precious memories, and 17 pages of vellum give it a rich, lasting feel. Generation to Generation features a beautiful full-color cover and quality binding, making it a journal youll be proud to give and display!

(PRWEB) May 13, 2004 -- When President George W. Bush signed a law to create a monument on the National Mall in Washington to the veterans of World War II, he declared there was no time to waste, because 1,100 of these veterans were dying every day. With a median age of 77.5 years for men, and 79.2 for women, within ten years this valiant generation will be gone forever.

We are losing the greatest part of the 'Greatest Generation, because each death represents not only a personal loss, but also the loss of the memories and wisdom of the individual," declares Gerard A. Smith, author, speaker and Southern California entrepreneur. I believe its the responsibility of each of us to do everything we can to capture the thoughts, ideas, beliefs, and hard-earned wisdom of those who came before us, and preserve those memories for future generations."

Gerard Smiths latest book, Generation to Generation: A Legacy of Love and Wisdom ($29.95, Light the Fire Within, ISBN 0-9625626-0-6), was born from his trying and failing to preserve the colorful life stories of two important members of the Greatest Generation": his own parents. He wanted to record stories like his Dutch fathers experience working as an accountant on an Indonesian plantation, and his mother delivering babies in the African bush. Gerard also wished to capture the wisdom his parents wanted to pass on to his own future children and grandchildren. So Gerard created Generation to Generation as a way of preserving these thoughts, ideas, beliefs, and reminiscences in personal, handwritten form.

Generation to Generation is a thought-provoking journal," Gerard states. Each section covers specific topics designed to help people remember important parts of their lives and record them in written form. But it doesnt just capture memories: it asks questions about what people believe, their favorite memories, their mentors and influencers, and the words of wisdom they want leave behind."

As a new generation goes off to war, Gerard believes its more important than ever that we learn from those who sacrificed for freedom during previous conflicts. Generation to Generation gives all of us our last, best opportunity to capture what made our parents and grandparents great, and preserve their love and wisdom for ourselves as well as for our sons and daughters," he adds.

Generation to Generation will be published in both journal and audio journal format, with a release date of May 1, 2004. It can be purchased at local bookstores or through www.LightTheFire.com. For more information, contact Corinne Donlin at Light The Fire Within at (800) 360-2808.
