My name is Steven L. Jackson. Age 38
My Story is about my Black Mafia family, (which I love dearly) my infamous father Lawrence W. Jackson (deceased) AKA "Slippery Jackson" (68). I have an even more incredible Mother, Anna Mae Jackson. We come from the Washington area and have lived here for about 50 years. We spent 30 years living as a family of eight in Southeast, Anacostia. My father was arrested in 1969 for heading a (300) member heroin and cocaine distribution network. He supposedly controlled the most organized black network on the east coast. He was convicted and spent 10 years in different US federal prisons. When this was happened I was 4 years old. He was released and was home for about a year and some months and was convicted of conspiracy and violated in 1981. This adding 5 years but a Judge aggregated and converted his original (25) year sentence to of (27) years to save him from getting a life sentence. The BOP and Justice Dept. conspired to over rule the Judges order and keep him in prison past his mandatory release date.
Our true Story has never been told. But it is historically well documented. Slippery Jackson change to times he lived in and Anna Mae Jackson represented a strong black woman. We all graduated from high school and many of us have college or technical degrees or the equivalent in education.
My father was being represented by a Lawyer. He wanted to be represented by a reputable literary agent. My mother is Anna Mae
Jackson is ill now. (65), she never condones or deals with drugs.
She worked at the Washington Times for (12) years. The Washington Time wrote a scandalous cover story in the Washington Times Magazine entitled "A Capitol Shame" The times reporter mentioned her husband while she was a front desk employee. Momma raised us on welfare without father but never divorced him or tried to replace him. She and my brothers and sisters are still alive and successful respectable citizens. I am a nineteen (19) year U.S. Army Veteran. My Big Sis works for HUD as a GS 14/10, one brother retired from the Air Force after serving 25 years.
Two brothers are in the D.C. Fire Department, both Battalion Chiefs. Weve all done well with the help of the lord. We will all dictate our story to our deceased father and create several books. We are all worldly, almost all of us have visited or actually lived in Europe and we all have traveled the country.
My family has a family owned church in D.C. Saint Johns Baptists Church of Marshal Heights SE Washington DC. For over 50 years my Grandfather John H. Jackson Sir ran the church. His son, my uncle Rev. Doctor, Charles B. Jackson., both Baptist ministers built it with some of my fathers help early on. Uncle Buddy one of my fathers six (6) a brother is the current Pastor. My Father was becoming an ordained minister and he was ill when he came out of Butner Prison in NC. He was released from prison in a wheel chair, sick that way and had a massive heart attach (8) days before he would have been off papers.
He knew he spent 10 years longer incarcerated than his sentence called for and the stress of all that injustice killed him. Judge A. Robinson was kind to my father during sentencing because my family was young then and my fathers ties to the Mafia where very deep. My father needs help with the potential books deals and possible movie deals about our lives. There is considerable interest in our story. My father is the only one who knows all the facts. My uncle Norwood (deceased) Ret. Col. UA Army was in charge of Fort Dick's prison was for a tour and former Elk. Also Uncle Norwood was a warden and later a commissioner over (3) prisons in New York he even has a wing of the prison dedicated to him while three of his brothers were convicted felons. My other uncles are highly successful business men.
HBO's Jon Alpert, who won (8) Emmy awards for documentaries contacted my family to propose a documentary on us, the offer is still open. We are considering our options. We have other interested producer parties in New York. My father was really like an Italian Don, flamboyant and charismatic, business man and gentleman. He was truly connected. Several New paper and Magazine articles mention my father's negative impact on the Washington D.C area. The U.S. Justice Department tried everything to catch my father and tried to leave him to die in prison.
The characters and plots in my families' tragic history include...the Genovese Crime Family, John Gotti and the Gambino' Family (who he didn't work for) Jimmy Hoffa he was incarcerated in Lewisburg with my father, General Noriega my uncles Morriss prison buddy. My Uncle Lester was once one of Americas most wanted criminals. My father knew several powerful Columbians Pablo Escobar, , Cuban Drug King Pin and various Black Superstar Entertainers, R. Edmonds and various young drug kingpins. He hired F. Lee Bailey type lawyers, knew lost of Judges and political figures of his time. Just to name a few.
My father could get counterfeit money, gamble, playing and he beat people like Minnesota Fats in pool, and he once won a pool room shooting at 8,000 dollars a rack. He was involved in police conspiracies, crooked DC politicians; Our Home was once featured on Better Homes and Garden. He and Momma have now turned towards the
Lord. They are separated but they wanted to get re married when mom is well enough to travel 2500 miles. Slippery is deceased now. He died suddenly on the 13th of August. But they are both very happy my father was freed. He lived long enough to school me So I am going to help finish what he started. He wanted to educate the youth about the injustices and failings of the prison reform and medical system. He wanted me to the youth about the importance of family togetherness. Talk about predatory behavior and disciplining children. He felt the things were necessary early in a childs development before the child becomes predatory, engaged in the drug culture they have created for themselves.
I am proud of my family and we are still a respected name in this area to this day. We want to market our remarkable story and tell it to the world. People do sometimes look at me as if I have the power to be the next Washington DC drug king pin or make simply have the power to make them disappear. I can tell you now that this is non sense. Some of my aspirations are to lecture the youth. I started a project documentary about the impact of drugs in our neighborhood. Even now my fathers name is buzzing in DC, NY and California as the best possibility for a seven generation touching story on par with ROOTS. My Mothers Father Walton B. Johnson was Rose" in the Movie Short Ernie and Rose it won a Blue Ribbon Award at the 1982, American Film festival Awards. It was a great short movie. I am also very proud of my mothers strong influence on us after a tragic fall from grace. My momma was and still is a very beautiful woman, a beautiful black woman. But Anna Mae Jackson is from a strong Black Female background. Genealogy traces us to Rosa Parks.
My family I and respect honest work not drug dealing . I am hoping Oprah will take notice of my family we would give her an exclusive interviews too, I would like to talk with, Bill Cosby, Tavis Smiley or other influential blacks about sponsorship. Ill talk to other famous talk show host about my infamous father. He was sick and dying while in Butner Federal Corrections facility where he was incarcerated with the Don Vito Genovese god blesses him for believing and knowing my father was no snitch. My father was a God fearing man as am I. We want to turn the young people around and since my father is the most respected Blackman ever to ever link up with the Italian Mafia it puts him in a good position to be marketed to young men as the cream of the Hustler elite and the greatest reason to abandon the Drug kingpin hustler trade. The 30 year suffering of his family and his 5 sons and 3 daughters has taken a toll on him. He and I are working on several Book and Movies projects to discuss the Kingpins and Thugs. When the Feds invade your home, if they are lucky enough to survive the experience; and you are worth 250,000,000 on the street one day and sentenced to 30 years on the next. How we got through you say? It was Anna Mae Jacksons strength of will. We have no hidden money, the Feds took everything we had back then except, 3007 W. St SE. Some nice lady bought it from poor mamma for a song. The house was recently in the news. There was a story about property values rising in Hillcrest SE.
I have been developing a book and documentary about my experience as the youngest Son of the infamous Lawrence W. Slippery and Anna Mae Jackson, living in my old neighborhood of Hillcrest and my friends and relations from Woodland. M parents are Historical Black figures of great importance to our people. I have been treated differently all my life by the people in my neighborhood but I never knew why except that my father was in jail as the kids used to say. I was not told everything about my father by my mother who went on raising the 8 children alone in SE Washington DC in the old neighborhood of Marion Berry. Drugs have devastated the children of an elite Black Community (Hillcrest) South of the river. This is where I was raised and this is part of my familys incredible story. I just found out how deep my father was and just what role he has had as a drug distributor in the Washington DC Area. They call him "the best that ever done it", people say to me " your father was bigger than Raffel Edmonds", " Man your father was the one of the most powerful Black Mafia Dons in US history with the power the Genovese family helped him attain. He was one if the most Connected" Blackman alive.
We really want to help the black community by telling our story. I worry about the minority children a lot because I felt a lot of guilt about my mothers and other womens struggle. She cried allot alone in a dark room. I believe she is the strongest personality I have ever met. The sins of my father haunt me as I walk the DC streets knowing that the success of my fathers drug trade in the 60's thru the 80's devastated this city. I would give anything in the world to help change this so I am trying. I have tried to be a good man like my uncles and brothers through out my life. I try to honor my mother and father plus represent them well where ever I go. I have traveled the world and I get respect everywhere I go. I should use this respect to drug culture created notoriety of my fathers Black Mafia Organization to speak directly to the youth about the military, schools, careers, youth sex, drugs guns, marijuana and violence. I also want to street the importance of voting each and every election year. God knows my heart and I hope you can feel my concern for the children. Every day in Washington DC the children are dying. We will set up a Lawrence W. Slippery Jackson foundation to help change the school curriculums. Classes should include respect for authority and your elders. We need to educate everyone about the use of etiquette. We need to examine what the old can teach the young. Subjects like Micavilles The Prince. The art of war, The man who would be King, Tao, Chi, Classes like conflict resolution, Incarceration, becoming a member on society, rape, pedophilias, abuse and rough Teen sex, aids, pregnancy, adult male characteristics of maturity, the female characteristics of maturity, Work ethics,. We need to stop setting our young people up for failure. We all wish we knew then what we know right now right? These concepts like War and Peace could be learned at the age of (8) years old if the teachers explained it to them patiently. We need to open the public schools late for further recreation or rebuild the old recreation centers and fund them adequately. I remember when Hillcrest was the jewel of southeast. We need to empower parents so they can step up and control their unruly children with the appropriate disciplines. I got my last parental beatings at 17 years old and I turned out ok. Im sick of these people who tell parents not to beat a bad kid. Then watch as they kill their follow class mates in school. The parents are getting locked up fro trying to instill a little self respect in a world of video games, the new sexy young songstress, designer drugs, and half the children with ADD undiagnosed or worse diagnosed and on drugs anyway. I propose classes on the emotions in general. If you dont know what youre experiencing and you cant describe it how do you get help with what ever feeling youre dealing with. I know big talkers are usually small doers so Oprah, Bill Cosby, Tavis Smiley, Michael Jordan, Magic, Bill Gates; whom ever can help me explore the possibility that you should decide if your child should be given your special form of discipline. If the child needs it and the situation calls for it...I say.... do it. Why? Because Im doing fairly well thank the Lord. GOD Bless and spare the rode no more!!!!
