Brown University Entrepreneurs Take Mentoring Mainstream
Advance Mentoring is a new mentor matching service for people in all industries. Come to be a mentor or find one.
(PRWEB) May 15, 2004 --Advance Mentoring, Inc., the first ever online mentor-matching service that helps professionals connect with mentors in both online and offline environments, announces the initial launch of its online web portal. This Professional Mentoring service allows mentors and mentees to meet, with the goal of helping mentees develop and learn from experienced business leaders in their fields. Matches are made by industry and experience classifications, with the aim of creating successful mentoring relationships to assist the mentee on a prosperous career.
Professional Mentoring covers all industries and fields and also includes mentoring for and from those in school for advanced degrees in law, medicine, business, science, and the arts. All are welcome to visit the services website (www.AdvanceMentoring.com) and join as a mentor, a mentee, or both.
Advance Mentoring is Co-Founded by Noah Cirincione, a Brown Alumnus, and Lucas Hrabovsky, a current Brown student. The concept for Advance Mentoring began as CEO Noah Cirincione noticed friends reaping the benefits mentoring relationships offer. He then asked himself the simple question, Why cant I have a mentor too?"
A mission then began to bring the concept to life. The Advance Mentoring team, including Mr. Cirincione, COO Lucas Hrabovsky and Managing Director Steven Wolfson (MBA Columbia), brought the Advance Mentoring website live on January 31, 2004 and successfully launched the promising venture. Today, the site has members from over 40 countries in more than 45 industries and has been getting great feedback.
Advance Mentoring was created to facilitate efficient and effective online mentor/mentee matching, allowing each to gather sufficient information about the other before committing to a mentoring relationship. The websites wide range of features and tools, such as internal e-mail and instant messaging systems, provide a common communication infrastructure enabling mentor/mentee relationships to grow. The Advance Mentoring website also contains features allowing registered members to upload and download video profiles that tell their own stories.
Says CEO Noah Cirincione, While reading text of biographies from a page is good, the ability to see someone tell their own story triggers a much deeper sense of connection."
The advanced search function also allows members of a charity, non-profit organization, professional association, or Alma Mater to reconnect or connect with each other for the first time.
Advance Mentoring will be seeking a Series-A financing of $2 million in the next 2-3 months. Taking mentoring mainstream gives everyday people access to the rewarding benefits which mentoring offers. Advance Mentoring offers a service unlike any offered before: a service providing the opportunity to solve career problems and the focus to define a rewarding career path.
