Vianix Ports MASC® To Texas Instruments Digital Signal Processors

Vianix today announced that it has successfully ported its MASC® (Managed Audio Sound Compression) technology to Texas Instruments (TI) TMS320C54x, TMS320C55x, and TMS320C64x DSP generations. MASC® is a state-of-the-art speech compression technology which reduces voice file storage requirements and bandwidth during transmission.

Virginia Beach, VA (PRWEB) May 16, 2004 -- Vianix today announced that it has successfully ported its MASC® (Managed Audio Sound Compression) technology to Texas Instruments (TI) TMS320C54x, TMS320C55x, and TMS320C64x DSP generations. MASC® is a state-of-the-art speech compression technology which reduces voice file storage requirements and bandwidth during transmission. It will allow customers to receive high voice quality at high compression ratios and provide the ability to implement either a fixed or variable rate vocoder. MASC® maintains toll-quality voice while compressing files up to 22 times smaller than .wav files and up to 44% smaller than G.729 or GSM compression formats. It compresses voice by frames onto compressed packets, and is therefore seamless to TCP/IP and UDP transmission protocols. The high quality / high compression voice files produced by MASC® technology also offer a significant value proposition in systems with back-end ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition).
