California author and animal expert, Diana L. Guerrero headlines the festival with an animal friend.
(PRWEB) May 16, 2004 -- The San Diego Latino Book Festival is going to get wild this year with animal behaviorist and author, Diana L. Guerrero. Guerrero, an instructor for The Learning Annex and a former resident of San Diego County, will talk about her new book and work with wild and domestic animals at the festival on May 16th.
The 5th annual San Diego Latino Book and Family will be held at Southwestern College.
Of the 19,000 students at Southwestern, 58% are Hispanic. The Festival's mission is to reduce illiteracy in the Latino community nationwide, differentiating itself by its core focus to advance the quality of life for Latinos via directed life and literacy education.
Guerrero is the author of the book, What Animals Can Teach Us about Spirituality: Inspiring Lessons of Wild and Tame Creatures." She has been affiliated with the Zoological Society of San Diego, the Rancho Coastal Humane Society, the Canine Cryobank, and currently teaches an animal behavior course for The Learning Annex in San Diego. Her book contains local and regional stories and can be found or ordered at bookstores around the county.
The behaviorists work with wild and domestic animals has taken her around the world. Her book is also traveling around the world and is currently available across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Guerrero began writing after a tumble from the top of a zoo hay barn redirected her career. A native Californian, the scribe spent her early years in San Pedro and now resides and writes from her home in the mountains of San Bernardino County.
Guerrero will be signing her books immediately after her presentation and invites you to join the festivities. What Animals Can Teach Us About Spirituality retails for $16.95 and is published by SkyLight Paths Publishing, a division of Longhill Partners, Inc. A free preview of the book is available at her website www.arkanimals.com.
