Now, more than ever, Americans are turning to cosmetic enhancement to look and feel their best. Cosmetic procedures have seen a 228% increase from 1997-2002 (American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery). Related fields such as cosmetic dentistry have seen widespread growth, with tooth whitening alone having increased by over 300% in the past few years (American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry). With a growing population of satisfied customers and a wide array of new advancements being introduced, the rapid increase in both surgical and non-surgical treatments is expected to continue.

In LA, the Cosmetic Enhancement Expo (CEE) is first in a series of 5 CEE consumer educational events to be launched in the next 12 months.

According to Michael Colby, President Executive GPS “Clearly, there is a need for consumer education in this decade of the “extreme makeover”, with both surgical and non-surgical treatments promising transformations. With the myriad of cosmetic options available to the average person, there exists a corresponding degree of confusion as to which procedures are not only safe but appropriate ---what criteria should be used to evaluate the correct practitioner ---what are the “pros” and “cons” of individual procedures --- and what is the latest, and best, in the ever-expanding world of cosmetic surgery, cosmetic dentistry, cosmetic skin care, cosmetic eye care, and anti-aging treatments. The event will facilitate education on these complicated decisions in an efficient, professional, unbiased, friendly, and commitment free environment.”

At the West Coast Cosmetic Enhancement three day event, in Los Angeles November 5th 2004, consumers will visit exhibits, view live demonstrations, attend educational seminars, sample products, and interact with medical professionals and leading cosmetic and pharmaceutical representatives. Included are some topics that are appropriate pre-requisites to the decision making, such as consumer financing options, cost effectiveness measures, and the short and long term impact to physical and mental well being of the recipients of cosmetic enhancements will also be presented.

To ensure that they provide a world class event, a Medical Advisory Board has been formed comprised of respected leaders in the Cosmetic Enhancement field, including: Dr. Malcolm Paul, Past President, ASAPS; Dr. Mitchel P. Goldman, La Jolla Spa MD; Dr. Andre Berger, Rejuvalife Medical Associates; Dr. Joan Kaestner, The Botox Institute; Dr. Andrew Caster, Caster Eye Center; Dr. Patric Cohen, Aesthetic Dental Center of Beverly Hills; Dr. Renato Calabria, ArtEsthetica; Dr. Laurence Rifkin, Aesthetic & Restorative Dentistry.

The mission is to help consumers feel confident and to provide them with information make the right choice in the continuum of cosmetic enhancement options. Mr. Colby also indicated, “Doctors and industry suppliers who wish to take advantage of this ground breaking opportunity should contact sponsorships@execgps.com.”
