Rising Star "Noble Savage" Available at Auction

Author Liz Moore's first novel, "Noble Savage," has been rising steadily through the sales ranks on Amazon.com for the past three months. Now, an autographed copy of the book is available during the Fund for Women Artists auction being held on eBay over the next two weeks (May 14-28).

(PRWEB) May 17, 2004 -- Author Liz Moore has watched her sales ranking rise on Amazon.com over the past three months. Moore's novel, "Noble Savage", started out around 2.1 million in early February, but the sci-fi/thriller has started a steady climb up to reach the 1.7 million mark as of May 15th -- an increase of almost 430,000 places. Moore is excited to see her work now starting to build momentum, especially in this election year, as she believes the story can be seen as a cautionary tale about putting too much power into the wrong hands. The novel has been called thought-provoking and a wonderful read by reviewers.

"Noble Savage" is the tale of a false prophet who brings about Armageddon through man-made means. Those who promise to follow the Prophet are saved from the weapon, as well as a few people who are naturally immune to the effects, while the rest of the population is wiped out. Before long, a group bands together to fight the Prophet in hopes of returning to the lives they once knew.

While Moore's novel can be purchased through the publisher, Llumina Press, as well as Amazon.com and other online sources, an autographed copy is available for a limited time during the Fund for Women Artists auction on eBay. All proceeds from the sale of Moore's novel, or any of the more than 100 other items available, will go directly to the Fund. To view auction items, go to eBay and type "WomenArts" in the search field.

Some of the items available for sale during the two-week eBay auction include: autographed donations from playwright Wendy Wasserstein and painters Judy Chicago and Joan Snyder; a full pass to the Reel Women International Film Festival in Hollywood or the Queer @ HERE festival in New York; jewelry, craft, and visual arts items, as well as special services such as script advice from Sundance Institute dramaturg Len Berkman or tuition to a rock and roll summer camp for teen-aged girls at the Institute for Musical Arts.

The Fund for Women Artists is founded on the belief that women artists have the power to change the way women are perceived in our society. The Fund wants to make sure that artists have full access to financial and other resources they need to do this crucial work. The focus of this group is mainly on women in theatre, film, and video, and the Fund's two main goals are: To Challenge Stereotypes and To Increase Opportunities.

Many of the main characters in "Noble Savage" are strong women fighting side-by-side with men for survival. Moore feels these characters fit well with the Fund's goal to challenge stereotypes, and hopes the sale of her work will help with the second goal of increasing opportunities for women artists like herself and her three daughters -- all young women with artistic talent.

"Noble Savage", ISBN 193204745x, can be ordered through the above-mentioned online sites as well as by local booksellers through Ingram Distribution. The novel is 224 pages and normally retails for $16.95.
