Femtosecond Cr:Forsterite Laser from Del Mar Ventures

The ultrafast Cr:Forsterite laser produces femtosecond pulses in near infrared range around 1250nm. It's a new important ultrafast laser for variety of applications in scientific and medical research, micromachining and imaging, as well as in advanced military and defence R&D.

(PRWEB) May 17, 2004 --The femtosecond Cr:Forsterite (Cr:F) laser system is a mode-locked ultrashort laser producing pulses in near infrared ~1250 nm range. The Cr:F gain medium is pumped by a 6-10W Ytterbium Fiber Laser giving an all solid state laser system that is an affordable source of femtosecond pulses in 1230 - 1270nm region. Cr:F laser fills the void in the near-infrared region not covered by any other solid-state laser. Since the tuning of Ti:Sapphire is limited to below 1 micron, the Cr:F system is important for scientific and medical applications where the source further into the near-infrared is needed. Since the wavelength of this system coincides with a dip in the absorption of water and, in addition, a low scattering regime, Cr:F is an important source for imaging applications.

Del Mar Ventures offer full line of Cr:Forsterite lasers including oscillator with fiber laser pump Mavericks-65, amplified Cr:F laser system Mavericks-65A, femtosecond micromachining workstation and Cr:F multi terawatt system JAWS.

Del Mar Ventures is a premier developer of state-of-the-art Femtosecond Lasers and Systems for research and industrial applications. Today Del Mar Ventures femtosecond product line includes Ti:Sapphire and Cr:Forsterite oscillators and amplifiers, Femtosecond Absorption Pump - Probe Systems and Femtosecond Fluorescence Measurement Systems, as well as a variety of autocorrelators for pulse measurements, pulse pickers for pulse selection, and Faraday Isolators to protect femtosecond laser oscillators from optical feedback.
