Sunshine Factory Presents Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Chicken

New Art Exhibit at Sunshine Factory

(PRWEB) May 21, 2004 -- Sunshine Factory is pleased to present Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Chicken, a selection of paintings by Marcy Wasserman from May 23 -- July 8, 2004.

Marcy Wasserman, who maintains a studio in Park Slope, aptly describes her paintings as poetry recited through rich color and surface."

Characterized by warm vibrancy and vivid color, each of these variations on a common theme dazzles. While some exude a whimsical playfulness, others convey an aura of graceful elegance. All stunningly capture the vitality of the subject.

Ms. Wassermans artwork has been exhibited in numerous and varied venues including the Bronx Museum of the Arts, Pace University and the Westbeth Gallery.

The recipient of three Polaroid Foundation grants, Ms. Wasserman served as instructor in the Gifted Young Artists program at the Educational Alliance from 1993-1999. She currently works as a teaching artist for Henry Street Settlements Abrons Arts Center.

Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the Lower East Side, of course!

A reception for the artist will be held on Sunday, May 23 from 4:00pm -- 6:00pm

The gallery is located at 11 Essex Street between Canal and Hester Streets. Gallery hours are Monday -- Friday, 7:30am -- 5:00pm and Sunday, 9:00am -- 5:00pm.
