Good Samaritan Hospital Recognizes Emergency Responders During National EMS Appreciation Week

Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, N.Y. showed its appreciation and gratitude to all of the EMS Responders in its service area by hosting a special EMS Appreciation Day Bar-b-que on the grounds of the hospital on Thursday, May 20.

(PRWEB) May 24, 2004 -- Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, N.Y. showed its appreciation and gratitude to all of the EMS Responders in its service area by hosting a special EMS Appreciation Day Bar-b-que on the grounds of the hospital on Thursday, May 20. The event featured tributes from the hospitals administration and staff, as well as from governmental officials from both New York and New Jersey.

We are pleased to recognize and honor the contribution of these dedicated professionals, whose commitment, efforts and talents touch the lives of thousands every year, and result in hundreds of lives being saved," noted Michael Schnieders, Executive Vice President and Administrator of Good Samaritan Hospital. The selfless devotion to the health and well being of the community that these incredible individuals show day in and day out is truly commendable."

Ernie Stonick, EMS Outreach Coordinator for Good Samaritan Hospital, read from several testimonial letters and proclamations that were received from a wide range of dignitaries, including New Jersey Governor James McGreevy, and many New York State Senators and Assemblymen, County Executives and from mayors of towns throughout the Greater Rockland County area.

Although the efforts of these EMS professionals are sometimes unrecognized or overlooked by the public, we wanted to make sure that they received the honor and appreciation that they are due by hosting this event," noted Stonick.

Good Samaritan Hospital is part of the Bon Secours Charity Health System, which also includes St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick, NY and Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, NY.
