After over five decades the Original Pennsylvania Dutch Folk Festival, has announced that the entire Kutztown Folk Festival collection of tools, farm equipment, signs, and buildings will be sold at public auction on Saturday, June 12,10:00 A.M.
Summit Station, PA (PRWEB) May 23, 2004 -- After over five decades the Original Pennsylvania Dutch Folk Festival, has announced that the entire Kutztown Folk Festival collection of tools, farm equipment, signs, and buildings will be sold at public auction on Saturday, June 12,10:00 A.M. Schuylkill County Fairgrounds in Summit Station, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Alfred Shoemaker, Dr. William Fry of Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, PA and Dr. Don Yoder of the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, began the Folk Festival in the year of 1950.
With the cancellation of the lease the board of directors decided to sell everything. With the public auction in June, the "end of an era" will be marked since the Pennsylvania Folklife Society was begun at Franklin and Marshall College in 1950.
