WORDZ & RHYTHMZ TO DEBUT ITS SOUL AND FLOETICS ON NEW ARTS STAGE AT 2004 CITY STAGES FESTIVAL JUNE 20th

Wordz & Rhythmz, a spoken word and performing arts organization, will take to the New Arts Stage for the first time at the 2004 City Stages Festival in Birmingham, AL on Sunday, June 20th.

BIRMINGHAM, AL (PRWEB) May 23, 2004 - Well-known for organizing classy and positive spoken word floetics with the monthly "On Stage At the Carver" and "Safari Speaks" spoken word and performing arts events, as well as leading in the area of local entertainment public relations and event promotions with clients such as The Music Caterers, LLC and Make It Happen Theatre Company, Wordz & Rhythmz (W&R) prepares for its debut at the 2004 City Stages Festival on June 20th.

Artists scheduled to spike the mic and set the stage with spoken word soul, dance and music presentations include Spoken Word Artist/Vocalist, Yogi, Holy Hip-Hop Artist, Complēt, Dancer/Choreographer, Terri D. Harris and Sign-Language Artist, Donna Maddox. LaShanna R. Price, who founded W&R in July 2002, will host and deliver spoken word and musical talents of her own as she performs the hit piece, "Silent Wordz," a 9/11 tribute co-written by Complēt.

"What we do is organize a clean and positive show of varying talents under a theme, and weave a story that leaves the audience feeling refreshed and inspired," said LaShanna R. Price, who is coordinating and directing the W&R presentation. "With a combination of theatrical directing, the audience enjoys a different form of music, dance and spoken word artistry all at the same time, and they are often overwhelmed when the last artist leaves the stage."

Since founding the organization, Price has cultivated a number of spoken word artists and performers who continue to perform under her direction, ever expanding her network of artists and industry contacts across the nation, including L.A.s leading spoken word recording artist, Maura Gale. Some of the artists she continues to work with along with Gale include Slam Poet Lindsay Stone, Caren "Poetress Lei" Ross, and Eric "Kkoall" Carwell.

You can take part in the unveiling of a diverse and unique spoken word and performing arts presentation when Wordz & Rhythmz takes the New Arts Stage in Linn Park at 1:30pm on Sunday, June 20, 2004 during the City Stages Festival.
