Gold Record Awarded artist Brian Larsen, reforms famous band, Twilight's Moon
For the first time in eight years, prolific musician Brian Larsen, one of the 100 youngest gold record awarded artists, has reformed his one-man-band, Twilight's Moon, into a quartet.
(PRWEB) May 23, 2004 --In a delightful twist of fate, enigmatic musical superstar Brian Larsen has reformed his band, Twilight's Moon, into a permanent quartet, featuring bassist Chas Cathcart, guitarist Justin Ray, drummer Tristan Jermann, and Larsen himself, who plays guitar, drums, bass, piano, and is the lead vocalist. "It's an opportunity for me to take a step back and focus more on my songwriting and performance of specific instruments. The listener doesn't respect the fact that I've slaved for two years over an album because I play all of the instruments on it, nor should they have to. Instead, if I concentrate on further honing my songwriting and performance, I can both tour more efficiently, and become a better studio musician," Larsen mentioned in a recent review with Alternative Press.
Each of the three musicians that Larsen has chosen to be in Twilight's Moon have at least a decade of musical experience under their belts, and some members, such as guitarist Justin Ray have worked with Larsen in the past.
The band is currently rehearsing for summer tour dates and the release of the tentatively-titled Larsen-solo/band hybrid album "The Last of the Romantics," planned for a July 20 release.
"This is the best work I've ever done," Larsen added. The tones and genres of the album range widely, from sexy (the album's first single, "Mind Candy") to somber and enticing to energetic. Larsen's previous albums include the middle-of-the-road rock album "Emergency Exit," the determined "Broken Windows," the trance album "Electric," and the operatic-rock disc "Slope."
Fans of Twilight's Moon will be delighted by Larsen's step toward musical normality. "Of course, I'm going to retain a certain level of my quirkiness, but my new material is very commercial as well."
With the information about the disc comes a new website for Twilight's Moon, found at www.twilightsmoon.com. The site, which has just broken 6,000,000 visits since its inception, plans to double its hit total by the end of 2004.
