New Smyrna Beach, FL (PRWEB) May 23, 2004 --- Florida sisters Kay Harrison and Sarah Roberts have a new way for you to get your news from Iraq. The new website, www.bloggers4freedom.com, launched on May 21, 2004. The website provides links to blogs", or online journals, of soldiers and Iraqi citizens who are living through the war.
Blogs have been growing in popularity over the last several months, however, there has not been a good resource connecting blogs about the war until now. Kay Harrison says, We've seen that there are lots of blogs out there, and lots of sites with links, but didn't seem to find anything targeted this way and felt there was a need for it. We were frustrated because we felt we were not able to do anything of value to support our troops in the Middle East, and this is our small way of trying to give them a voice directly."
As the popularity of blogging continues to boom, the sisters are expecting big things from the site. As Sarah Roberts states, The one thing that is lacking in media coverage today is the personal stories from the front, and more and more people are turning to the internet to get those stories. We are offering one concise place to get that coverage."
In addition to providing links to soldiers and Iraqi journals, the site also welcomes letters from the front. Letters should be addressed to webmaster@bloggers4freedom.com.
