Book, a great gift, even for Father's Day!!
Torn From the Inside Out, by emerging new author Josephine Thompson, is a book you will never forget. Torn From the Inside Out is a literary memoir that Thompson wrote using the pen name Sara Niles. I am an avid book reader, I especially love classics and this one will be a classic. I read the book in one night, my husband read it as did my friend and her husband and we ALL had the same reaction: WOW!! One of the men, said it was like being 'kicked in the gut', that is the best description yet. The writing style is so artistic, its like packing the power of great poetry in a memoir.
(PRWEB) May 25, 2004 --Torn From the Inside Out takes you on a journey you will never forget, The author, writing under the pen name Sara Niles, takes you to the sand piles that she played in as a 3 year old the day her great great Uncle Robert came to save her from her life of neglect and abuse.
Sara spends a good decade under the the fatherly tutelege of her great uncle and the care of her elderly aunts. Tragedy and drama begin as her family dies away from her and one week after her 16th birthday Sara marries Thomas Niles,a Viet Nam Veteran suffering from Post Tramatic Stress disorder.
The reader gains insight into Thomas's well developed character as you meet his family and relive his family history. The reader is emotionally pulled into the story as Sara's hearbreaking ordeal begins and you follow Sara along as the historical context of the times is skillfully incorporated while the colorful characters within Nile's immediate life come alive before your eyes. Throughout the entire story, the powerful influence of her fatherly uncle Rober is felt. All good fathers should be proud to be likened to Sara's uncle Robert.
