Jampacks Media Introduces New Advertainment Venture.

New York based marketing firm targets elusive audiences with free music giveaways at bars and clubs. Jampacks Local NYC will feature fifteen up and coming bands handing out free CDs with their music on it, and will be completely advertising sponsored.

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 26, 2004 -- Seeking to assist major advertisers in targeting hard to reach young audiences who shun mainstream entertainment, Jampacks Media LLC has announced the launch of its first product: Jampacks Local NYC. What is a "Jampack?" Quite simply, it's a compilation CD, but with a neat twist: bands who contribute a track to Jampacks receive thousands of free copies to hand out to fans at shows. For a band on the brink of blowing up, such a promotional item could be enough to put it over the top.

For the advertiser, they get to reach fans of underground music who go out of their way to avoid mainstream entertainment and advertising. "By associating with these bands, the advertiser has the opportunity to get instant street cred. The audience who goes to these types of shows are the ones setting the trends, and that can include both the music they listen to and the brands they buy." said Jampacks Media founder and president Marc Lefton. Additionally, the sponsor purchasing the naming rights of the CD receives mentions in band emails, flyers, and press releases. Fans have the option of downloading a second song in exchange for filling out a web survey. "We can expect to expose each fan to a brand name 10-15 times throughout each promotion."

Although you might think corporate sponsors and underground music might be a strange mix, according to Mary Crosse, a Jampacks co-founder, who heads up band recruitment, "Bands overwhelmingly love the idea. Yes, there's a corporate ad in the CD, but they get them for free and it's a way to give something back to their diehard fans, while having the opportunity to bring new ones into the fold. Not only is their music heard by their own audience, but by the audience of the fourteen other bands as well."

Jampacks Local NYC will be the new company's first offering, featuring fifteen up and coming artists from New York City. The company is in negotiations with several sponsors and plans to announce an official lineup of bands in the coming weeks.

The company has plans late this year to roll out a locals-only version in major cities across the U.S., plus a national version with larger, more established bands.
