Publication of a new kind of Arab American Magazine.

Gourad Media Group, LLC announced the publication of Shems, a quarterly Arab American magazine that celebrates Arab Americans, their accomplishments, their events, their business leaders, and finally their stories. The magazine will be available via subscription and in select News stands in the United States starting July 1st 2004.

NORWALK, CT (PRWEB) May 30, 2004 -- Gourad Media Group, LLC announced the publication of Shems, a quarterly Arab American magazine that celebrates Arab Americans, their accomplishments, their events, their business leaders, and finally their stories.

The magazine is called "Shems" which means "Sun" in Arabic. Khalid Gourad, founder and publisher of the magazine, chose this name to reflect his goals in spotlighting positive and delightful aspects of the Arab American community which tend to be clouded from view. 'It's a good time for us to shed some sunshine on this community celebrating their heritage, social life, and accomplishments.

This highly educated group of people working within all sectors has been weaving the best treasures of their culture into America for over 100 years. With a community which is made up of millions of people living chiefly in metropolitan areas, there is a call for a periodical which offers the Arab American community a forum for non-political, non-sectarian, and non-religious communication. All Americans enjoy that element of fun found in exploring their roots and cultures. With the help of Shems, Mr. Gourad offers a fun Magazine with which Arab Americans can celebrate their own special culture.
