30 Year Veteran of Bar Bands Signs Second Record Deal in Two Months
Jazz musician Keith Scott signs a second record deal, this time covering the Asia Pacific region for his debut CD entitled Waikiki. Rhythm of Asia Records will manufacture and distribute the CD all over the Asia Pacific within six months.
Honolulu, HI (PRWEB) May 28, 2004 -- jazz musician Keith Scott signs a second record deal that covers the Asia Pacific region for his debut CD entitled Waikiki.
Keith was born in York, PA and educated at Dallastown Area High School and West Chester University where he won the yearly Down Beat Magazine scholarship to Berklee School of Music in his senior year. As a full time musician, Keith has performed mostly in nightclubs on the Jersey Shore and Florida, calling the Tampa Bay area home until 2001 when he moved to Hawaii.
The first reviews are coming in. John Berger (music critic for the Honolulu Star Bulletin) writes; "flugelhorn and electric piano are the two instruments that make this debut album by jazz musician Keith Scott a success. The brass adds a welcome texture that makes this project more than just a composer's demo. Almost all the songs are originals, and Scott's keyboard talent is nicely utilized in several styles of pop and fusion jazz. Scott's use of muted horn makes 'Until There Was You' soothing, ambient music, while the presence of organ and multi-tracked horns on 'Immeasurably Cool' adds an appealing up tempo, soulful element. 'Minute Waltz' and 'Europa' add instantly recognizable melodies by other composers to an album that rewards repeat listening."
