Venture Capital and Angel Investors 'Exhibit' in Boston
FundingPost puts a new twist on the Venture Fair at its VC Showcase on Wednesday, May 26 in Boston, Massachusetts
BOSTON, MA (PRWEB) May 28, 2004 -- On May 26, 2004, at 6pm, Leading Angel and Venture Capital Investors will participate by exhibiting their funds at the FundingPost VC Showcase. This 3 hour cocktail party, sponsored by Hale & Dorr and Grant Thornton, will give the Investors an opportunity to showcase their funds and meet 100 local entrepreneurs. The VC Showcase is something "new," versus other venture fair formats -- where the CEOs wait for the investors to come to them, in the FundingPost VC Showcase format -- the CEOs go up and meet with every investor. This "Reverse Venture Fair" provides each CEO in attendance a guaranteed way to meet and pitch every fund in the room.
This will be the 4th VC Showcase produced by FundingPost in the past 5 weeks. The first 3 were in Washington DC, Silicon Valley, and New York City. The exhibiting venture funds on May 26 in Boston are: Keiretsu Forum (Private Investor Group), Ticonderoga Capital, Commonwealth Capital, DFJ New England Fund, Adams-Harkness Ventures, The View Group, Longworth Venture Partners, Mi3, Horizon Technology Finance, Harbourvest Partners, Ironside Ventures and Egan-Managed Capital.
"The VC Showcase is the perfect setting for many entrepreneurs to meet and shake hands with a large number of active investors in a short period of time," said Joe Rubin, Director, FundingPost. "You walk up, learn about the fund, give a short pitch, exchange cards, and move on. It's an efficient way to network with the VC community that takes place in a comfortable cocktail party setting."
"It was a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to get a few moments with a VC which otherwise would not have happened. It was also a good chance for VCs to listen to numerous pitches in one evening without too much time risk. It was very productive and it was fun. There was a lot of value and ideas being exchanged in one evening," said David Yarnell, Managing General Partner, BEV Capital on the New York VC Showcase.
"We enjoyed the FundingPost VC Showcase on April 27th. As far as we are concerned the event was very successful. Not only did we enjoy the superb organization, the beautiful location and the accommodation, but we also had a steady stream of contacts at our table, representing companies and service providers. Some of these contacts, we believe will mature into more substantial relationships, and as a result we believe that our attendance at the event was very worthwhile. We are looking forward to attend your next event," said Gadi Behar, Founder and Managing Director, Silicom Ventures on the Silicon Valley VC Showcase.
