Adding to their esteemed small winery portfolio, Acme Wine Marketing signed, effective immediately, a marketing agreement to represent W.H. Smith Wines located on the Sonoma Coast in Sonoma County, CA.

SANTA ROSA, CA (PRWEB) May 28, 2004 --- Adding to their esteemed small winery portfolio, Acme Wine Marketing signed, effective immediately, a marketing agreement to represent W.H. Smith Wines located on the Sonoma Coast in Sonoma County, CA.

Bill and Joan Smith, owners of W.H. Smith Wines, have been making wine and growing grapes on Howell Mountain since 1974 producing wine commercially in 1982 as the respected La Jota Winery. In 2001 Markham Vineyards purchased the highly successful La Jota Vineyard Co. and Bill and Joan turned their sites to yet another winery project -- W.H. Smith Wines.

In 1992, under a new W. H. Smith Wines label, the Smiths released their first vintage of Sonoma County Pinot Noir. In 1994, Bill and Joan purchased 360 acres along the Sonoma Coast on a ridge high above the town of Cazadero. The first vintage of Maritime Ridge Vineyards-now the Smiths rising star-will be released in the fall of 2004.

Joan Smith, proprietor explains that, Friends like Helen Turley encouraged us to work with Pinot Noir, particularly from vineyards located along the Sonoma Coast. It was Helen who gave us the impetus to purchase the Maritime Ridge property".

W.H. Smith Winery portfolio consists of a Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir bottling and two vineyard designated pinots -- Hellenthal Vineyard Pinot Noir and Maritime Ridge Pinot Noir.
