(PRWEB) May 28, 2004 -- EXCERPT:

Even in our days, God in His faithfulness still speaks to man. God speaks to us when we are in tune with Him spiritually. God speaks to us in different ways and sometimes when we least expect him to. The question therefore is not whether God speaks to us but whether we are sensitive enough hear His voice. Maintaining a consistent righteous relationship with God is very important in order to receive from Him. The lukewarm believers that operate between godliness and worldliness only hear noise instead of the clear message of God. They see a blurry vision instead of the distinct divine vision. The truth is that besetting sins like gossip has blocked the spiritual ears of some people; worldliness has become a dark veil that separate man from the divine vision that God gave to some. They cannot discern the voice of God; neither can they see the beauty of His glory. Therefore, we must be spiritually receptive to the impulses of the Holy Spirit before we can pick the heavenly signals of Almighty God.

Spending quality time in fellowship with God in patience affords us divine opportunities to receive a message from God. Many people spend hours in their quiet time to reading the word, praying and praising God and laying before Him their petitions. We know that we serve a God that has ears that can hear, and a mouth that can speak. However, why is it that when some finish their prayers, they just get up without waiting for a moment for whatever the Lord wants to reveal to them? Waiting patiently and silently before the Lord is part of our quiet time. Brethren, God did not reveal His plan concerning Sodom and Gomorrah when Abraham was waiting on Him under the Mamre tree. It was after Abrahams hospitality, when he saw off his 'visitors, that God revealed Himself to Abraham. When the men got up to leave, they looked down toward Sodom, and Abraham walked along with them to see them on their way. Then the Lord said, 'Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?" (Genesis 18:16-17) It was when Abraham went an extra mile with God in righteousness that He revealed His plan concerning Sodom and Gomorrah. Let us learn how to walk extra miles with the Lord in our calling. It is during the extra miles we walk with the Lord, in a split second that our heaven opens. Elisha walked the extra miles with Elijah and his heaven was opened. He saw the chariot of fire lift up Elijah his master and received a double portion of anointing.
