Broadcaster leaves radio to help charities tune-in to online fundraising

Enhanced support for online fundraisers using buy.at online shopping portal system.

(PRWEB) May 29, 2004 -- After nine years presenting news, sport and traffic & travel on radio stations across the North of England and Midlands David Revett has joined community fundraising webshop provider buy.at/ in a new role of Fundraising Executive.

"This is quite a change for me" admits David. "after many years of breaking world news to regional listeners, I'm now bringing good news to groups nationwide. I'm looking forward to bringing good news as opposed to leading stories that are so distressing such as the terror strikes on the Twin Towers that I broke on Newcastle's Metro Radio."

Over 2,000 groups are now taking advantage of buy.at providing their supporters with links to the participating retailers. Over 50 retailers are involved including Littlewoods Index, Comet, Marks and
Spencer and Thorntons.

The webshops are provided completely free and while the amount raised this way depends on how much awareness they create among members and supporters, many are receiving a cheque for 20 plus per month.

"This is an exciting time for charities, schools and other groups who embrace the potential of the internet. Online shopping is just beginning to really take off. The unique commission structure on the buy.at webshops allow even groups with a small band of faithful supporters the chance to
raise significant funds.

Interested groups only need to go to www.buy.at for information or to get their own webshop - or contact David Revett on 0800 138 2161 or

notes for editors

buy.at was launched in 2001, and is operated by Perfiliate Technologies Limited, a venture capital funded company based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

buy.at is differentiated from similar looking initiatives as buy.at has invested in having direct relationships with the participating retailers. The philosophy behind buy.at is working to change consumer's activities and not to try and increase their purchases or unnecessary discretionary spend. buy.at therefore does not require group supporters to register and provide personal data and works with their group's administrators to encourage their activity at a level appropriate to their needs.
