Online Community Launched for American Families Hosting Au Pairs
Families interested in hosting international childcare now have a new online resource. Aupairhost.com, launched in April of this year, has been welcoming hundreds of visitors each week.
(PRWEB) May 28, 2004 --Developed by host families for host families, the web site features a fresh, contemporary look and incorporates many features. Articles, polling, message boards, host family web logs, and other helpful resources have been very well received by families considering hosting an au pair, au pairs and agency representatives.
Contributors have been from every aspect of the au pair program experience, from top agency representatives, local agency reps and families, to au pairs new and old. Overall the feeling is the same, the site offers families different perspectives on the au pair experience and allows all visitors to stay informed and educated.
Yvonne Kirner, owner and operator of a website for German au pairs (www.aupairusa.de) and author of the book Fit für Au pair in den USA", stated she found the site to be a great resource for host families."
Kimberly Nuttle, experienced au pair host and goAUPAIR Local Area Representative, is also a content contributor. Aupairhost.com is a terrific resource for parents considering hosting an au pair, parents who are currently hosting au pairs, and those youth who are considering becoming an au pair. It provides a terrific forum for learning about the U.S. Au Pair program, and improving the host family/au pair relationship, while at the same time, increasing the awareness and benefits of participating in the au pair program as a form of childcare."
Future additions to the site include search capability, frequently asked questions, additional host family web logs and e-commerce capabilities.
Aupairhost.com strives to forge new paths in au pair hosting as a form of childcare and cultural exchange. Founded in 2004, aupairhost.com is an agency neutral, non-profit, online community dedicated to advancing, promoting, improving and supporting the au pair / host family relationship.
