Burt Reynolds, Gabrielle Reece, and Angie Everhart to Star in Beach Volleyball Movie, Cloud Nine

Academy Award-winning Hollywood producer Albert S. Ruddy (Godfather, The Longest Yard, Cannonball Run), has teamed with Academy Award winning Producer Gray Frederickson's (Godfather II, & III, Apocalypse Now & Bad Girls) Graymark Productions to produce the beach volleyball movie Cloud Nine. The movie will star Burt Reynolds, Angie Everhart, volleyball champ Gabrielle Reece, D.L Hughley, and Paul Rodriguez, and will be directed by Harry Basil (Hairy Tale, Fourth Tenor, Back by Midnight).

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 29, 2004 --Cloud Nine is the first in a series of youth orientated, low budget independent films and is a Graymark Presentation of a Ruddy-Morgan/Frozen Pictures film. We are not reinventing the wheel, or devising new theories about low budget indie production," Frederickson said, there are many talented people producing now, and we are looking forward to working with them to supply a steady number of high concept films involving known actors and directors."

The film focuses on a has-been promoter and conman (Reynolds) who has the idea of creating a beach volleyball team made entirely of strippers from a club he frequents in the valley, Cloud Nine. After some convincing and help from his friends (Hughley and Rodriguez), the girls set off for the beaches of Malibu, where they draw crowds not for their volleyball skills, but for their risqué apparel and outrageous antics. The girls gain notoriety and make money, but are unsatisfied with just being sex objects, so the hone their volleyball skills and go on the amaze everyone when they make it to the championships, playing against their rival volleyball team, led by pro volleyball player Christina (Reece).

The film was written by Cloud Nines producers, Brett Hudson and Burt Kearns of Frozen Pictures, and Albert S. Ruddy. The director, Harry Basil, has worked with comedian Rodney Dangerfield on a number of films and has just wrapped A Hairy Tale. This is the first independent film being produced by Ruddy / Morgan and Frederickson of Graymark Productions and is currently filming on the beaches of Southern California. Other cast includes Paul Wasilewski, Kenya Moore, Katheryn Winnick, Patricia DeLeon, and Marnette Patterson. A Fall 2004 release is anticipated.
