Grantham University makes $10,000 donation to Spirit of America.

Money used to build television stations in Iraq

(PRWEB) May 29, 2004 --Tom Macon, Grantham CEO, made the $10,000 donation in late April to "Spirit of America," a non-profit group raising money so U.S. troops can install television stations in Iraq. Mr. Macon says he read in the Wall Street Journal a story about the Spirit of America's effort to raise $100,000 for the TV stations to be built in Iraq.

Jim Hake, Spirit of America's entrepreneur founder, was quoted in the Journal saying "the group has received $1.52 million. Some 7,000 donations have come from every state, and one from France."

Mr. Hake said he purchased all the needed equipment and had suppliers ship directly to Camp Pendleton. Federal Express donated domestic shipping costs.

Grantham University is an online provider of undergraduate and graduate programs.
