Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe Names Shimpei Hirata New President Succeeds Yutaka Suzuki

Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe GmbH (FME) announces that Shimpei Hirata, a Fujitsu career executive with 25 years experience in the international semiconductor industry, has been named President. He is based at FME's European headquarters in Dreieich-Buchschlag, near Frankfurt.

Frankfurt, Germany (PRWEB) May 30, 2004 -- Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe GmbH (FME) announces that Shimpei Hirata, a Fujitsu career executive with 25 years experience in the international semiconductor industry, has been named President. He is based at FME's European headquarters in Dreieich-Buchschlag, near Frankfurt.

Hirata succeeded Yutaka Suzuki who has returned to Japan as Group Senior Vice President of Fujitsu's Marketing & Sales Group, Electronic Devices.

Hirata was previously Marketing Strategy Planning Director at Electronic Devices and has held senior positions in System LSI Solution Development. He started his career with Fujitsu in 1979, working for 12 years as an application engineer.

Shimpei Hirata has worked closely with us in Europe for many years and has built up excellent relationships both internally and with our European customers," said Suzuki. "His knowledge of the international semiconductor market is exceptional, and I am in no doubt that the Company will prosper under his Presidency."
