Lua Halau o Kaihewalu 4th Annual Lua Seminar
Lua Halau O Kaihewalu will celebrate its 4th Annual Lua Seminar June 19 and 20, 2004 at Niu Valley Middle School cafeteria from 8 am to 4pm. This special two day event will feature Olohe (grandmaster) Solomon Kaihewalu and his family art of Hawaiian combat taught to him by his parents and his grandparents before them.
(PRWEB) May 30, 2004 -- Lua Halau O Kaihewalu will celebrate its 4th Annual Lua Seminar June 19 and 20, 2004 at Niu Valley Middle School cafeteria from 8 am to 4pm. This special two day event will feature Olohe (grandmaster) Solomon Kaihewalu and his family art of Hawaiian combat taught to him by his parents and his grandparents before them.
Once thought to have been lost to antiquity, Kaihewalu is one of the few masters willing to teach this ancient family battle art publicly and to non-Hawaiians. He will be joined by his Kumu Lua (instructors) and a host of special guest instructors and professional black belts on Saturday, June 19 to share in a cultural exchange of martial arts practices and techniques rivaled by none. The event is open to the public and all martial arts styles.
Guest instructors on Saturday include Professor Mike Tiwanak (CHA-3 Kenpo), Sifu Al Dela Cruz (Kajukenbo Chuan Fa), Professor George W. Iversen (Kajukenbo), Guro Dr. Bahati Nershant (Indonesian Silat), Rudy Valentino (Kick Boxing), Shihan Jaz Yglesias (Hawaiian Combat Jujitsu), George and Patrice Lim (Lim's Kawai'i Kenpo), Sensei Lou Klaff (Shizen Ryu Jujutsu), Sensei, Hans C. Ingebretsen (Danzan Ryu Ju Jitsu), Professor James Muro (Kosho Ryu Kenpo), Sam Combes (Aikido Yoshinkai), Shihan John Masculine (Kenpo Go Shin Jitsu), and Sensei Dale Kahoun (Danzan Ryu Jujitsu) top name a few.
On Sunday, Kaihewalu and select Kumu Lua (instructors) will focus specifically on Kaihewalu lua hand and weapon techniques.
