(PRWEB) May 30, 2004 -- J. M. Taylor will continue his promotional tour for Behind the Green Water at the Carrollwood Barnes & Nobel Booksellers, Tampa, FL June 26th, following his initial launch during the Week of the Eagles, the bi-annual remembrance of D-Day and this year a special commemoration of the return of the Screaming Eagles.
Behind the Green Water takes place in northern Iraq in the months just before Coalition forces invaded Iraq, an Iraq which the Coalition discovered was as cruel and murderous as believed: a tyrannical regime that spawned genocide against the Kurdish people, built weapons of mass destruction for use against Saddams enemies - internal, west and east - and a manifest evil that includes treacherous links to al Quada and threatened the world with an apocalypse we can only pray that the righteous survive.
Army Major Nash Devon, a Carolinian claiming ancestry back to the Croatan Indians and Sir Walter Raleighs Lost Colony, had been hailed as a hero and damned as a murderer in the Gulf War, then haunted over the years by his actions. Assigned back to Saudi enroute to the UN weapons inspection team in Iraq, Devon is shanghaied by US military intelligence and sent to the Northern Iraq Sanctuary Zone for duty with the UN High Commission for Refugees as an agricultural advisor. His real mission is to find Saddam's hidden nuclear research facilities.
In his search Devon discovers more than he bargained for: an international nuclear conspiracy and an opportunity to have the family he thought he had lost forever as the Frenchwoman deciphers the riddle of a tablet engraved during the time of Christ.
Behind the Green Water is fictional, but all too relevant to today's tragedies and triumphs.
Taylor served with US Central Command on missions in the Middle East, and with the 101st Airborne Division as a platoon leader and battalion commander. Airborne and air assault qualified, a scuba diver and trained as a system engineer, he designed military command and control systems in civilian life before he turned to writing. Using his background in nuclear weapons and extensive travel in the Far and Middle East, Europe and across the States, he packs a ton of adventure into an action-filled page-turner.
