J. M. Taylor will begin his promotional tour for Flash of Emerald at the MacDill AFB Main Base Exchange Mall June 11-12th. An award winning thriller, Flash of Emerald brings the war on terrorism home to Tampa Bay
(PRWEB) May 30, 2004 -- J. M. Taylor will launch his Florida promotional tour for his award-winning thriller, Flash of Emerald, at the MacDill AFB Main Exchange, Friday and Saturday, June 11-12 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
Flash of Emerald brings Harry Stoner back to the Suncoast long after an abortive operation in Cuba gave him his fill of Tampa and Ybor City. Corporal Harry Stoner began his special operations career with a night jump from the belly of a Strategic Air Command B-47 over Cuba for the CIA. Now retired from the Army and just a glorified clerk in the DIA, Stoner thought he would never love or kill again. But events force him to return to the fight, not only for country, but for his family and the new woman in his life.
A feel for the plot:
...A small event, just a one kiloton blast at ground level on the Mall in front of the Space and Air Museum, would dig a crater two hundred feet in diameter and about sixty feet deep........Not too bad. Now, put ground zero right here on MacDill and we could eliminate south Tampa, smooth off the contours around the bay. Get rid of all the big snakes down at the end of the runway...."
South Florida, especially the Suncoast centered around Tampa Bay, is ripe for a new series of novels. Personal triumphs and tragedies swirling around the Cuban Freedom Fighters efforts to free Cuba from Castro and Communism, fueled by the financial implications of the arms and drug trade flow through the Caribbean basin and the international terrorist plans for Tampa's major military commands, all add to the rough and tumble life beneath the shiny veneer of palm trees and mimosas.
Flash of Emerald is the first of a series of South Floridas Harry Stoner Blue Eagle Press Suncoast novels that feature the lush settings and diverse cultural backgrounds for action, romance and adventure on Floridas Suncoast.
Authors Comments:
As I trooped around the world as a young soldier, John D. MacDonalds Travis McGee kept Florida safe from both foreign and domestic foes, treating the ladies as they desired and deserved. More recently, James Halls Thorn and Les Standifords Deal have kept Floridas East Coast safe from crime and corruption and animal abuse, as Tom Corcorans Alex Rutledge has done for the Keys. I fear that we on the Suncoast have been practically abandoned to the evils of the world, protected only by Randy Whites Doc Ford and Diane Vogts Willa Carson. Doc is often distracted by the beautiful women lusting after his body and intellect, and Willa by the demands of the courtroom. I hope you enjoy his attempt to regain his old life and earn his place beside Thorn, Deal, Rutledge, Ford, and Carson - and at the knee of McGee.
