Southern Championship Wrestling Returns to Altamonte Springs, FL

Southern Championship Wrestling returns to the Eastmonte Civic Center in Altamonte Springs, FL, on Saturday, June 19 with a huge seven match card featuring many of the South's premiere fighting athletes.

(PRWEB) May 31, 2004 -- Southern Championship Wrestling returns to the Eastmonte Civic Center in Altamonte Springs, FL, on Saturday, June 19. The card features seven great matches and many of the South's premiere fighting athletes. In the main event, former Rollerjam star Brian Gamble teams up with the returning 6'10" Korean monster Ryze against Thump Dupree and the Southern Heavyweight Champion, Jason Hexx.

Ryze has been out of action since Jason Hexx brutally attacked his knee with a lead pipe after the main event of April's Spring Breakout IV. Ryze, former bodyguard for international superstars Low Ki and Homicide, is by far the most imposing figure on the independent circuit today. All hell will break loose when he finally gets Jason Hexx in the ring on June 19.

For the Southern Cruiserweight Championship, Aaron Epic faces Josh Rich in what will be his third defense of the title. Epic has already defeated Rich once and also successfully defended the championship against former MLW superstar Chasyn Rance. The last meeting between Epic and Rich was a closely contested battle and Rich's request for an immediate rematch has been granted. With Epic participating in the Jersey J-Cup at the end of June, one must wonder if he is looking past the challenge of Josh Rich.

Vordell Walker defends his recently won Florida Heavyweight Championship against the debuting Rich Criado. With past stints in Puerto Rico as well as MLW, Criado has certainly proven himself as a top competitor on the independent circuit. Criado regularly competes in the Northeast for WXW, but he resides in Florida. He would like nothing more than to become the Heavyweight Champion of his home state.

In a match several months in the making, Dagon Briggs faces Manny Montana for the final time. Both athletes hold victories over the other, but neither has proven himself as the other's superior. They last faced off on May 22, in DeBary, FL, in a tag team encounter, but neither was involved in the decision. On June 19, the bitter feud will finally be resolved in a match that is already being pegged as a potential classic.

Also in action:

"Rebel Rocker" Towns Ellis vs. "Untouchable" Leon Scott

Johnny Schumacher vs. Mister Saint Laurent w/ So Cal Val

Heartbreak Xpress vs. To Be Announced
