(PRWEB) June 1, 2004 --LEFT FOR DEAD is the true story of Joe Bellante, who went from mobster to minister. Since that time Bellante has helped kids for over 25 years
Grecos debut book in its second printing, is sometimes funny, sometimes tragic, but always real
Acclaim from Writers Digest 2004 - "Sal Greco's telling of Joe Bellante's story moves rapidly. The dialog is realistic albeit jarring. Greco lets us see clearly inside Bellante's head as a child and a young man. He uses simple words and short sentences to good effect in order to accent the violent and purposelessness of Bellante's life. The book is a page turner and hard to put down."
Acclaim from Midwest Book Review - Left For Dead by Sal Greco is the biography of Pittsburgh organized crime figure Joe Bellante, and the assassination attempt (shot in the face by a fellow mobster and left for dead) that turned Joe's life around and set him on the road to the ministry in search of redemption. A clear-cut testimony of the hardships of survival and powerful pressures that mold life for good or ill, Left For Dead is an unusual addition to community library American Biography collections, as well as highly recommended reading for anyone with an interest in the culture of American organized crime."
"Thank you for a lively and amusing program at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library on Thursday evening, March 18. The audience seemed very taken with your stories concerning Joe Bellante from your book, LEFT FOR DEAD, about Bellantes life as a member of the Pittsburgh mob. As you stated there are some stories that are almost unbelievable, but true. You are certainly no stranger to public speaking, and your ease with the crowd was apparent. I would certainly recommend you as an entertaining program for anyone interested in offering a book signing and discussion."
Jan Vaughn, Public Relations Coordinator Warren Trumbull Public Library
