PDC Announces Technologies Designed for Enterprise Use - Show of Power in Next Generation Technologies

PDC (Power Digital Card) develops two memory card product series targeted at Enterprise usage, one of which utilizes email process technologies known as PDC VMail, and the other which utilizes security technologies known as PDC Secured. These two product series are only the beginning of a whole series of application development by PDC for next generation applications using the memory card as a base development platform. In the future, the memory function of the memory card will only be a basis function for PDCs new product lines.

Hsin Tien, Taiwan (PRWEB) June 4, 2004 -- PDC (Power Digital Card) develops two memory card product series targeted at Enterprise usage, one of which utilizes email process technologies known as PDC VMail, and the other which utilizes security technologies known as PDC Secured. These two product series are only the beginning of a whole series of application development by PDC for next generation applications using the memory card as a base development platform. In the future, the memory function of the memory card will only be a basis function for PDCs new product lines.

PDC VMail is designed for the busy professional who doesnt have enough time to review his emails. PDC VMail products allow the user to listen" to his email by downloading the email from computer to PDC VMail, and hear the contents of the email played back by using PDCs MP3 Players. Because PDCs MP3 Players consist of recording capabilities, the user can also record his reply onto the memory card, and when time is available, reply the mails. For cases where the user has a secretary, PDC VMail can be passed onto the secretary for email reply. The application software of PDC VMail have been encrypted, thus even the application is copied, it cant be used in non PDC MP3 Players. Currently, the Chinese version of PDC VMail is available and PDC is expecting to release the English version as well as other languages soon. If the user does not use the VMail application, PDC VMail can be still used as a normal memory card.

PDC Secured is designed to protect information or data in the memory card from unauthorized access. There are two versions of PDC Secured, one designed for personal use, PDC Secured Professional, and the other designed for corporate use, PDC Secured Corporate. PDC Secured Professional is for the individual user to protect his personal data in the memory card from being accessed by other personnel. In the event if he looses his card, he wont have to worry about personal data being viewed by the person who found the card. PDC Secured Corporate is a more advanced version of PDC Secured Professional in allowing companies to monitor and track corporate data that is saved into the memory cards. Companies can also control and pinpoint authority levels to each download of data into PDC Secured Corporate products. In cases where the corporate card is lost, there will also be no worries about competing companies or individuals having access to confidential information in the cards. Being more secured than data saved in CD, DVD, USB Drives, Notebooks, or even Desktop Computers, PDC Secured Corporate is the best security solution for the Enterprise.

According to Gen Shueh of PDC, PDC VMail and PDC Secured technologies can be applied to MultiMediaCard, RSMMC, SD, miniSD or any other type of memory product. PDC is now evaluating the timing of product launches for these applications and may be considering to license third party usage for our technologies. As PDC currently sits on the board of both MMCA and SDA, we are also considering to introduce these technologies into the associations to become a global standard. Whatever the case, the end user will be the final beneficiary to PDCs technological advances."
