Arlington, VA (PRWEB) June 5, 2004 -- The Association of Language Companies (ALC) held meetings in four major US cities to notify Language Company CEOs of the governments translation needs in National Security-related issues. The ALC meetings were held in New York, Washington DC, Chicago and Los Angeles.
The trade association is working with the National Virtual Translation Center, (NVTC) to satisfy the requests for multilingual services. CEOs were made aware of an industry survey that was requested by the NVTC.
Meeting presenters invited CEOs to attend the ALC Annual Conference in Washington DC June 9-11 when the governments procurement process and GSA schedule will be among the topics discussed in detail.
Some language companies interested in growing their business in a sluggish economy joined the trade association to take advantage of the governments potential business.
Other meeting topics included the ALCs advocacy efforts to address the needs of Limited English Proficient, LEP, medical patients. The group adopted a Statement of Principals for LEP access to healthcare. Plans to address Capitol Hill will also be discussed at the Annual Conference.
