Useful Assistants(TM) Gains Momentum, Compatibility, and Power

Garnering a DV Award of Excellence, Useful Assistants version 1.5 adds Adobe(R) After Effects(R) 6.5 support, 28 new or improved assistants and makes After Effects faster and easier to use than ever.

Version 1.5 adds 28 new or updated assistants, increasing the total count of available assistants to more than 110. This new version also adds compatibility with After Effects 6.5.

Useful Assistants (UA) makes using After Effects easier and faster by automating tedious, repetitive, or difficult tasks and can shave days off projects. In a recent DV Magazine review which earned UA the Award of Excellence with 4.5 diamonds (out of 5), Matt Silverman said, "I found many [assistants that will be regular tools in my daily workflow." Among the additions to UA are three "Slave to" assistants, one each for lights, materials, and effects. These features have been requested by After Effects users for years. For example, if you want any number of instances of a particular effect to be slaved to one master instance of the effect, simply running the Slave to Master Effect assistant will write" potentially hundreds (or even thousands) of expressions for you, automatically. You don't have to concern yourself with the expressions to accomplish this task at all.

Useful Assistants 1.5 has a suggested retail price of $195 (USD). Owners of previous versions of UA can download Version 1.5, at no cost, from the Profound eXchange.
