Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation Combines Golf Clubs and Laughter to Help Battle Heart Disease and Cancer

New Jerseys Queen of Comedy to appear at Ladies Links" to help raise funds in support of womens health

(PRWEB) June 5, 2004 --Is laughter the best medicine? The Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation believes so, and is pleased to announce that New Jerseys Queen of Comedy, Joanne Archer, will be the Mistress of Ceremonies for the 3rd Annual Ladies Links." Ladies Links, a half-day golf event taking place Thursday, June 17th, is being held to help raise funds to battle the two leading causes of death in women -- heart disease and cancer.

Ms. Archer, Host and Executive Producer of the award winning television show Blonde in the Hood," will be entertaining participants on and off the course, serving as MC as well as celebrity golfer at the event.

I must say that I was ecstatic when the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation extended this invitation to me," noted Archer.

My number one goal in life is to bring joy and laughter into the lives of others, and 'Ladies Links is the perfect opportunity for me to do so, as women of all ages are coming together to have fun in support of good cause," noted Archer.

Held at the New York Country Club in New Hempstead, N.Y., Ladies Links" begins with an 8:30am continental breakfast and yoga warm-up session. Attendees will then be invited to learn to play golf in the Golf Clinic or try their swings in a 9-hole Scramble. A buffet lunch will conclude the festivities and will feature prizes, gifts, an exciting raffle and entertainment from the Queen herself, Joanne Archer.

Various sponsorship opportunities are still available, beginning at only $125 for a Tee Sponsor. All funds will support Womens Health Services at Good Samaritan Hospital of Suffern, N.Y. Individual golfers are invited to attend at a cost of $125, for either the scramble or the clinic. The cost to attend the fun-filled lunch is only $40.
