A message from Edward Slota, Independent candidate for the riding of Beaches-East York: The Global Party of Canada - doing what it takes to make it happen.
The Global Party of Canada's Founder Edward Slota, an Independent, announces his plans for financial reform should he be elected on June 28, 2004, in the riding of Beaches-East York, Ontario.
(PRWEB) June 6, 2004 --The interminable squabble between the left and right on taxation and spending priorities does not represent the full range of choices.
The annual budgets, in which politicians divide up the national cake," are nothing but a preposterous, patronizing pantomime; a cheap propaganda exercise in debt-economics. As a result, workers and businesses, and various sectors of the economy, are turning against each other, and jealousy and social division are fostered.
Reforming the financial system is more important than the war against poverty and starvation, more important than the movement to protect the environment, the struggle against pollution, the peace movement, the fight against drugs and racism, and the battle for social justice and welfare.
Financial reform is more important than all of these other problems for the simple reason that the current financial system is responsible, both directly and indirectly, for causing - or at least exacerbating - them.
For financial reform to occur there has to be a political expectation that it is supposed to occur; that it will translate into more quantum purchasing power at the bottom by siphoning off the gains at the top of the heap. And the fundamental choice is whether society is shaped by the market, or shaped by social objectives, in the form of a new government.
The money machine today is completely shaped by the market beyond any form of democratic control. Democracy started to die when politicians sold out" the power of the Bank of Canada in favour of private banks and foreign interests. Now democracy is sick and corrupt and pathetically inept in the face of the true power, which is the financial power of the rich one percent under the umbrella of the United States.
The public good and development of Canadian society is all but removed from the financial hierarchy based on power and profit that determines your future well-being and mine. The whole idea of building a society, not just an economy, is glossed over.
The Canadian political hierarchy - given their current penchant for writing themselves out of their job description - will only resist the call for power and profit if there is a clear counter-offensive demanding that the Canadian government use our collective financial clout to help build society.
As the new economic realities around the world unfold for the ordinary man, they are revealing a terrible irony to the powerful: inequalities can grow hand-in-hand with economic growth for a time, but ultimately they will slow down the whole game.
History tells a clear story -- that political will is what makes the difference from one society to the next. This story will only get more dramatic and obvious by that time. Will the lions share of the economy go to the existing powers, or those who dont have the essentials in life?
Do you want to wait another four years and watch what happens with the existing monetary policy, that favours the rich? Or do you want to decide what the rich and powerful keep on this election day? The rules of the economic game are themselves defined by monetary policy; money reform is about changing these rules, and changing the society that exists to the kind of society that citizens want.
The Global Party of Canada supports money reform. In the context of Global developments, this agenda is simply about accommodating, not challenging, the needs of the people and putting forth the money. Debt-slavery must end.
Together we can start closing a gap that is threatening all too many individual Canadians, society, and Canadas well-being as a country.
Together we can create a new and better Canada.
To get a clearer picture of life the day after" the election, and the rational behind joining The Global Party of Canada visit our website www.globalpartycanada.ca, or call your local news media for additional coverage of our policies. Failing this, I beg that you invest your vote instinctively in favour of money reform - as such you will no longer need to pay taxes and be assured of up to $3,000 per month for the necessities of life, with The Global Party of Canada by electing its founder Edward Slota as an Independent candidate in the Beaches-East York riding.
Furthermore, you can elect The Green Party of Canadas Candidate in all other ridings to magnify societys capacity to embrace money reform and grow.
The emphasis of the past twenty years of monetary policy has not been on continued, gradual economic increase in the standard of living for the people but on economic expansion creating vast chasms between the rich and the majority.
Subsequent meetings of the members will determine the ideology and leadership of The Global Party, and the degree of consensus which exists about the kind of society that the citizens want, so please join today.
