Western Adventure Captivates Audiences
The movie industry has made millions of dollars on films that portray the adventure of life in the west. Who can forget the first time they watched John Wayne swagger across the big screen, or Clint Eastwood and Kevin Costner as they drew audiences back to a time in American history when life seemed simpler. The bad guys were obviously bad, the good guys always won and the cowboy always got the cowgirl in the end.
(PRWEB) June 6, 2004 --The movie industry has made millions of dollars on films that portray the adventure of life in the west. In our society today, good guys dont always come out on top, and a good, predictable western flick takes us back to a time when we could count on the bad guys losing the battle. Author Linda Dockery has taken us to her own version of the west in her latest novel, Cowgirl Up.
In Cowgirl Up, the author draws upon her own experiences as a rodeo performer. The heroine of the story, Dakota Leigh, is a modern-day cowgirl who hails from Oklahoma. You will follow her as she searches for lost calves, mends fences, confronts cattle rustlers and rides the rodeo circuit. In a world that seems to be dominated by men, Dakota holds her own as a barrel racer, bronco buster and bull rider. Shauna Easton, Editor of Women of the West Magazine says, Horses, cowboys, bucking bulls, barrel racing, romance and a young cowgirl far ahead of her time-what more could a fan of the American West ask for?"
You may enjoy the excitement of the big screen, or you may find pleasure in the peaceful act of curling up with a great book. Whether in a movie or through a book, western adventure offers an opportunity to enjoy storytelling at its finest. Cowgirl Up is no exception. Linda Dockery has written an accurate portrayal of an exciting lifestyle. Follow the adventure in Cowgirl Up, published by American Book Publishing and available to order at stores near you.
