(PRWEB) June 8, 2004 -- Muslim Coalition Mourns Death of Ronald Reagan
The Free Muslim Coalition Against Terrorism Mourns the death of Ronald Wilson Reagan, 40th president of the United States, who transformed the world and spread freedom to millions of people. Reagan died after a ten year battle with the mind-destroying illness of Alzheimer's disease. May he rest in peace.
Ronald Reagan was a president who led the United States with conviction, and whose policies defeated the threat of communism and the threat of nuclear war. He made the world safer, and fought to preserve and spread individual liberty for Americans and the world.
President Bush accurately and profoundly described the life and death of Ronald Reagan by stating this is a sad hour in the life of America. A great American life has come to an end. Ronald Reagan won America's respect with his greatness and won its love with his goodness. He had the confidence that comes with conviction, the strength that comes with character, the grace that comes with humility and the humor that comes with wisdom." ... "He always told us that for America, the best was yet to come. We comfort ourselves in the knowledge that this is true for him, too. His work is done. And now a shining city awaits him."
Kamal Nawash, the president of the Free Muslim Coalition against terrorism, stated that we send our heartfelt condolences to the family of Ronald Reagan and the people of the United States. May God bless him and welcome him into his eternal home."
Ronald Reagan was a man of enormous vision and optimism" said Nawash. His optimism never ceased and continued even after he was diagnosed with Alzheimers disease." After he was diagnosed with the deadly disease, Ronald Reagan wrote: "In closing let me thank you, the American people, for giving me the great honor of allowing me to serve as your President. When the Lord calls me home, whenever that may be, I will leave with the greatest love for this country of ours and eternal optimism for its future."
During his presidency, Ronald Reagan also pledged to fight terrorism. However, the fight against terrorism is not yet finished. Now more than ever, a new generation of Americans and people of all backgrounds need to unite in the battle against terrorism and religious extremism" said Kamal Nawash.
